UHIN plays a unique role in administrative transactions. As a Value Added Network, UHIN resembles a post office, passing information back and forth between trading partners. UHIN’s network can accommodate Institutional, Professional and Dental lines of business. If you do not have a Practice Management Software to create your claims, UHIN will provide a tool. This tool (UHINt 2.5) can create Institutional, Professional, and Dental claims, download reports, upload attachments, send/receive electronic eligibility, and more. 

UHIN has a number of payer connections, and in a few cases maintains the sole gateway to a payer. For more information, please see the page regarding connections for administrative transactions.

To assist providers with their administrative transactions, UHIN has created an Education and Training and a Help and Support section on the website. The educational materials include training videos (which are also a great way to preview the UHINt 2.5 software) and information on the upcoming 5010 transition; the Help and Support section has self-help materials as well as contact information for the UHIN helpdesk.
