UHIN will achieve Meaningful Use HIE functionality |

For Clinicians who are working towards the Medicare/Medicaid Meaningful Use incentive payments (which begin next year), UHIN, as the State - HIE must provide Health Information Exchange (HIE) functionality to meet those goals.
For 2011, ONC has required three HIE functionalities for Meaningful Use: (1) e-prescribing, (2) lab results delivery, and (3) clinical summary document exchange (we believe this to be a CCD – Continuity of Care Document). The cHIE already provides e-prescribing and lab results delivery, and is working to finish enabling the exchange of CCDs.
