Utah Health Information Network has set a new milestone in the industry. It has received accreditation from EHNAC (www.EHNAC.org) as both and electronic health network and a health information exchange. This is the first time that an organization has achieved the HIEAP accreditation.

UHIN has been operating their administrative network for more than 13 years and have successfully accredited the administrative network since the inception of the EHNAC HNAP in 2004.

The newly created HIEAP accreditation vets organizations in their ability to securely and reliably deliver critical health information to health professionals within their community.

Organizations like UHIN who pursue accreditation for HNAP-EHN or HIEAP must demonstrate that they meet rigorous criteria in subjects including security, adherence, compliance, and others.

"Our members wanted us to do this" said Jan Root, PhD. "The want the trust". UHIN has built a relationship of trust throughout the Utah healthcare community as a trusted entity. These accreditations validate that trust.

UHIN is thrilled and honored to be leading the country in electronic health information exchange and believes strongly in making healthcare accessible, affordable and secure for its members.
