UHINt User Does Not Have an 'OPT' Button to Configure Proxy Settings

This issue has been resolved through an update to UHINt 2.5 in March 2010. This KB article remains for informational purposes only.

UHIN KB Number: 1002

Severity: 2 - Work-around available. Impacting several customers

Affected Platform(s):

Problem:

A user behind a proxy server can download and install UHINt 2.5 but upon clicking on the UHINt 2.5 desktop shortcut the HTP updater fails to connect to UHINet II (as a result of the proxy server). When the UHINt 2.5 login screen appears, there is not 'OPT' button in the upper left corner to configure the proxy settings.

This issue is caused because the HTP Updater fails to download several files that are required in order for UHINt 2.5 to be configured for a proxy server.

To resolve this issue, users must manually install several files and update their proxy information. The following steps will help you do that.

  1. Save Athe following file to somewhere convenient (such as your desktop)

    • ProviderDesktop.exe.config to ProviderDesktop.exe.config.old
    • HTP.ProviderDesktopCommunicationManager.dll to HTP.ProviderDesktopCommunicationManager.dll.old
  5. Copy all the file from KB1002 to C:\Program Files\UHINt2.5
  6. Double-click on C:\Program Files\UHINt2.5\ProviderDesktop.exe
