Use the install icon that was placed on your desktop during installation. Double-click the icon and follow the program’s prompts. For more details, see the instructions for running a repair.
Q: I AM UNABLE TO OPEN REPORTS - WHAT DO I DO?

Q: HOW DO I DOWNLOAD UHINt 2.5?
The software is available for download from the UHINet web portal. UHIN has detailed download instructions available.
Q: HOW DO I CHANGE MY CLAIMS FROM TEST TO PRODUCTION (AND VISE VERSA)?
Use the Payer Maintenance tab to find the applicable insurance company. Once you click on the payer, use the Edit Payer Testing button to change the environment. For more details, see the instructions for changing environment.
Once you have submitted a claim, the payer will begin sending reports to update you on the claim’s status. First, they send a 997 (batch acknowledgement), then 277FE’s (claim acknowledgement), and last an 835 (remittance advice). Q: HOW DO I BACK UP MY INFORMATION?
Copy the user.db3 file from the directory C:\Program Files\UHINt 2.5\Data and save to another location on your computer. To back up reports, copy and save the information under C:\Program Files\UHINt 2.5\Data\Download. For more information, see UHIN's document on creating backups.
Q: HOW DO I DELETE OLD REPORTS/FILES?
WARNING: this is permanent! From My Computer, open up C:\Program Files\UHINt 2.5\Data\Download. Select the reports you would like to delete and right-click to choose “delete”. Details are available in the Deleting Reports From View document.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHO TO CALL WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM?

Q: HOW DO I VIEW MY REPORTS IN UHINt 2.5?
In the Reports section, click “Run Report” to search for available files. Select the desired report by double-clicking the file name. See the guide to viewing reports for more information.
Q: HOW DO I LINK MY PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE TO UHINt 2.5?
In Preferences\General Maintenance\Files, use the Source File Directory to indicate the location of the claim files on your computer. The claim file extension should be indicated under “File Extensions”. Detailed instructions for linking PM Software to UHINt are available
Q: WHAT ARE THE BASIC COMPUTER/SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS TO RUN UHINt 2.5?
Most PC’s are compatible, although very old and very new systems may encounter some problems. A full list of requirements is available.
Q: HOW DO I SEND TO NATIONAL PAYERS?
In Payer Maintenance, click on the clearinghouse (Emdeon or Capario) carrying your claims. Use the Clearinghouse Payer Info button to enter payer names and payer ID’s for the insurance companies you need. This information will then become available in drop-down menus from the claim form. For more details, see the national payer setup instructions.
Q: HOW DO I SHARE FILES AND REPORTS BETWEEN TERMINALS?
If your computers are linked by a shared network drive, you can redirect the information in UHINt to that drive. Go to Preferences, General Maintenance, and then Directories. Use the “Browse” buttons to redirect the files to a shared drive. For more detailed instructions, please see How to Share Files and Reports.
Q: I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY NATIONAL CLAIMS - WHAT DO I DO?

The acronym “cHIE” stands for clinical Health Information Exchange. The cHIE provides medical professionals a way to share and view patient information in a secure electronic manner. This information is accessible, with patient consent, to authorized users while maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy. By using the cHIE, a participating physician can promptly locate certain health information about patients, which will help to ensure doctors have the results and reports they need to give patients the best care possible.
